Subway
Audience: All ages, anyone who is tired of premade decision
Purpose: To encourage consumers to eat at Subway.
Claim: Even if life has made all your decisions up until now, Subway is your place to decide.
Speaker: Narrator of Keith Keithson’s life and trials.
Logos: At Subways, one has the ability to choose toppings, bread, and sandwich type. In a world where most of us are born into our futures, a little choice is freeing. And also shows you how much of life is choice or forced passive decision.
|
Pathos: The advertisement starts with a baby(Keith Keithson) being removed from an adoring nurse, the cute baby causes an emotional attachment to the character from the audience. The next scene is a young boy, (still Keith) receiving an awful haircut from a ceramic bowl, his sliced bangs and careless expression call the audience to cringe and feel sympathy for him at the same time.
|
Ethos: The Subway brand is a renowned company, which focuses on choice and healthier choice than competing fast-food. When Keith’s (sad) life intersects with this decision, his life is changed.
